addingpins photos downloadIt's been a while since I have shared a leg day movement so here is my preferred technique of the Smith Machine lunge. I live unilateral movements but I am not really a fan of lunges outside of the Bulgarian Split Squat. But even those I find to put a strange pressure on my hips that distracts me from the press of the working leg which frustrated me because I love the range of motion that the variation provided. -So, I tried to figure out a way to get the same ROM in a Smith Machine lunge that doesn't feel uncomfortable on my hip flexors and this variation was born. You start in a close stance and drop your butt to the back heel. It's easy to cheat so just keep the pressure in the toes of the back foot and drive through the front heel. Doing this in the Smith takes away the worry of having to stabilize yourself and allows you to focus on your form and mind #muscle connection. For the shoulder press & side lat raises, it’s lifting up for count of one and lowering for count of three. Hamstring curls in bottom video can also be done using a stability ball, squeezing as you come in. Let me know if you try these exercises! 💦
